The top-seeded FSU softball team is set to start its chase for the program’s 20th ACC Tournament Championship against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Thursday at the Harrington Athletics Village in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
FSU (44-8, 18-3 ACC) earned a bye into the quarterfinal round of the 2025 ACC Softball Tournament after winning the 2025 ACC Regular Season Championship. Head coach Lonni Alameda was named the ACC Coach of the Year on Wednesday and seven Seminoles made the All-ACC teams. They did not lose an ACC series during the regular season and have won 33 out of their last 38 games.
Georgia Tech is the No. 8 seed in the tournament and earned its spot in the quarterfinals after beating the California Golden Bears 8-0 Wednesday in the first round of the tournament. The Yellow Jackets are 27-21 overall and 10-11 in ACC play this season.
The two programs did not meet this season as their series was cancelled following the shooting on FSU’s campus.
The Seminoles lead the all-time series 71-26 and have won the last 25 meetings. FSU has been excellent in the ACC Tournament, their 19 championships are the most in the conference, and they have won eight of the last 10. They have gone on to win the tournament every year they won the regular season championship.
