Charlie Woods missed the cut in a qualifier for the 2026 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship on Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio.
Woods, a rising senior at the Benjamin School and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, shot 76 (5-over) on Ohio State University’s Scarlet course, missing the cut by six strokes.
The qualifier was one of 19 final qualifying sites being held across the country from July 13-22. The top 13 finishers in Columbus, along with two alternates, earned spots in the U.S. Amateur, scheduled for Aug. 10-16 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
Woods struggled early in the round and was 4-over par through the first six holes. He finished with a double bogey, six bogeys and three birdies overall.
The 17-year-old will have another opportunity to compete on a national stage next week at the U.S. Junior Amateur, which runs July 20-25 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
