How 2 Jacksonville Jaguars' defenders can earn Week 18 bonuses

Two Jacksonville Jaguars’ defenders have the opportunity to earn contract incentives in the team’s Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Many players have production bonuses baked into their contracts.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, defensive tackle Arik Armstead needs 1.5 sacks against the Titans to earn a $1 million incentive.

Armstead is currently at 5.5 sacks this season, but if he reaches the 7 sack mark, that triggers the bonus.

Fellow defensive tackle Austin Johnson can earn a bonus as well. If Johnson records two sacks this season, he earns an additional $250,000. He is currently at one this season, so he needs to log one more on Sunday.

The Titans have allowed 55 sacks this season, which is the fourth-most in football. However, bringing down quarterback Cam Ward is no easy task, either, with his ability to evade pressure.

A win on Sunday by the Jaguars would secure the AFC South title for them. Armstead and Johnson earning these bonuses would help secure that victory.
