Two people, including a pedestrian, were killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Holly Hill on Thursday, Feb. 5, and police say speeding contributed to the accident.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Flomich and Ridgewood avenues. The crash also involved a pedestrian, Holly Hill police said.
Officers arriving on scene found several victims with life-threatening injuries and first responders initiated life-saving measures. The injured were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, according to police.
Holly Hill police said “Tragically, two individuals later succumbed to their injuries.”
A preliminary investigation indicates that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash, Holly Hill police said.
