With Independence Day at the end of this week, outdoor plans may be in limbo due to the holiday weekend forecast.
A weather system east of Florida and another expected to stall in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, which the Trump administration has renamed Gulf of America, could lead to chances for an “increased, decent chance of rain” on the Treasure Coast later this week, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Melbourne said July 1.
The forecast is uncertain for either weather system developing into something subtropical or tropical, meteorologist Tim Sedlock said, but expected rain could help Treasure Coast conditions that have been “drier than normal.”
The gulf system could bring “a couple, three inches, perhaps locally higher” rainfall to the Treasure Coast, Sedlock said.
Here’s the current weather forecast for July 4, according to the National Weather Service’s seven-day forecast for the Treasure Coast as of July 2.
