Aldi will open a new grocery store on July 24 in Jensen Beach, with two planned to open in Sebastian and Vero Beach in early 2026, Aldi Regional Vice President J.R. Perry told TCPalm in an email.
These three locations were former Winn-Dixie stores that were closed to be converted into Aldi locations after an acquisition deal in March 2024. Here’s where they will be:
Indian River County currently has no Aldi stores. These two conversions would bring Aldi to the county, over 10 years after the first Aldi opened on the Treasure Coast in St. Lucie County.
What is Aldi?
The global discount grocery store chain was founded by Anna Albrecht, who opened her first food store in Essen, Germany, in 1913. Albrecht Discount’s name was shortened to Aldi in 1962.
Aldi opened its first U.S. store in Iowa in 1976 and now has over 2,508 stores and is headquartered in Batavia, Illinois.
