The top-seeded FSU Seminoles are set to play the No. 4-seeded Duke Blue Devils on Friday in the semifinals of the ACC Softball Championship.
Duke (38-15) beat the No. 5-seeded Stanford Cardinal 7-0 in six innings on Thursday afternoon to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The Blue Devils have won eight of their last 10 games.
Both teams will be looking for revenge in the game. The Seminoles swept Duke earlier this season, outscoring them 33-17 in Durham, North Carolina. The Blue Devils beat FSU 6-3 in the 2024 ACC Championship Game, ending their quest to win four straight tournament titles.
The two teams are the premier programs of the conference and have dominated the tournament. They have won the last 10 championships, splitting the last four. The Seminoles have reached the semifinals in the last 18 tournaments and won eight of the last 10 championships.
FSU leads the all-time series 14-5 and is coming into the game with plenty of momentum. The Seminoles run-ruled the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 8-0 in the quarterfinals and are now 45-9 on the season. They have won 34 of their last 39 games.
The game between FSU and Duke is set to start at 10 a.m. ET at the Harrington Athletics Village in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts on Friday. The game will be on the ACC Network and streamed on ESPN+.
