Chris Thomsen has recruited the tight end position extremely well for the Florida State Seminoles. They have four-star prospect Xavier Tiller committed in their 2026 class and are working on the 2027 cycle.
One of their targets is Trae Proctor, a three-star prospect from Miami, Florida. They are not the only school recruiting the 6-foot-6, 215-pounder; in fact, it is shaping up to be a battle between several Florida schools for him.
He recently spoke with Marcus Benjamin of Rivals, and revealed that the Seminoles, Florida Gators, Miami Hurricanes, and USF Knights are all involved.
“FSU and USF have been showing a lot of love,” Proctor said. “Florida is still showing even more love than they were before, so I’m loving the recruitment right now. I’m getting closer with FSU coaches, USF coaches; they’ve been calling me more, and I’m building a relationship with them. I’m still keeping my options open even though I’m loving Florida a lot.”
Proctor is ranked as the No. 450 overall player and No. 26 tight end in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 56 player from Florida.
Multiple members of FSU’s coaching staff are recruiting Proctor, and he is a fan of that approach.
“Coach Norvell, Coach Thomsen, there are a lot more coaches who reach out to me. I like it.”
The Seminoles already have one tight end committed in Connor Winn, but they need to add more youth to the room and appear to be open to adding a second player to the class.
