Follow along with us as the Little League softball team from Lake Mary, Florida, continue their run in the 2026 Little League Softball World Series with another pool game on Aug. 3 in Greenville, North Carolina.
The team representing the Southeast Region in the Purple bracket of this year’s tournament will take on the Europe-Africa team in the Orange bracket, representing the Emilia Romagna Little League in Bologna, Italy.
Lake Mary is coming off a dominating 14-0 win over the team from Washington on Aug. 2. The winner of today’s game won’t have to play again until Thursday, Aug. 6.

Lake Mary slams the door, finishes off Italy
Needing a shutout half-inning to end the game with a run-rule, Lake Mary sent Riley Tolan to the pitcher’s circle along with a change at every other defensive position.
Tolan gave up a pair of singles before getting three strikeouts to end the third inning and the game, 15-0.
Lake Mary has outscored its two opponents, 29-0. They will take the field against either Texas or North Carolina on Aug. 6.
Hits, runs keep on coming for Lake Mary softball
Already on a record pace for the Little League Softball World Series, the Lake Mary offense continues to churn out runs. A walk and a single set the table for Riley Tolan, who singled to left to score both Kaylee Whitlock and Chloe Cheek. Tolan reached second on the throw home, then got to third on a wild pitch to Parker Gorondy, who grounded out to make it 13-0, three runs short of the mercy rule in the third inning.
Then after another walk and an infield single, Zoey Brandon singled to center to score Aria Tormos. After another pitching change, Avery Little sent the first pitch she saw to the wall in left-center for an RBI single and a 15-0 lead. Lake Mary manager Brent Fieser then had his runners step off the bag with the ball in the pitcher’s circle for the automatic outs to end the inning.
Lake Mary softball continues to score early vs Italy
Two walks and an error loaded the bases with one out for Aria Tormos in the top of the second inning. That’s when Tormos delivered with a two-run single to left on a drawn-in infield to give Lake Mary a 5-0 lead.
Zoey Brandon followed with a single up the middle, scoring another run. Some aggressive baserunning caught the Italy defense a step slow, leading to another run on the play and a 7-0 lead. Avery Little then smashed a double to the wall in center, scoring Brandon as the rout is on in Greenville.
Multiple changes on defense, including at pitcher, did not help Italy. A walk and a few wild pitches led to two more runs for Lake Mary to make it 10-0.
Brynn Fieser strikes out the side for Lake Mary softball in first inning
Brynn Fieser, the only player on last year’s Lake Mary squad that reached the Little League Softball World Series semifinals, is in pitcher’s circle against Italy today. She seems to mean business after striking out the side on 13 pitches in the home half of the first inning.
Lake Mary softball scores first in first inning
The Southeast Region team from Lake Mary, Florida, wasted little time getting on the scoreboard in the Little League Softball World Series game against Italy. After Zoey Brandon and Avery Little opened the game with singles, Callie Ousley muscled a single over the right side of the infield for an RBI hit.
Then with two on and two outs, Kylie Green fly ball to center was dropped for an error, allowing Little and Ousley to score.
Lake Mary vs Italy softball gets underway
At just about 3:45 p.m., the lightning has moved on and the game has begun in the Little League Softball World Series. Lake Mary is the visiting team and batting first in the first inning.

The first pitch of the Little League Softball World Series game between Lake Mary and the team from Bologna, Italy, has been delayed by weather. According to Accuweather, storms were moving out of the Greenville, North Carolina, area by 3:20 p.m. There is no word on when the game is scheduled to begin.
