One of Florida State’s top targets at running back in the 2027 cycle has set his commitment date. It’s three-star Marquis Fennell out of Valdosta, Georgia.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder will make his decision on June 25, per Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports. This will take place right after he wraps up his official visit schedule for the summer. He’ll go to see the Stanford Cardinal on May 28, FSU on June 5, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on June 12.
Fennell got his scholarship offer from Florida State back on Jan. 20, and he would take a Junior Day visit to see the Seminoles on Jan. 31. In addition to Fennell taking two unofficial visits to Tallahassee in March, running backs coach Kam Martin went to Georgia to visit him in his home on April 30.
Fennell is a hot commodity because of a monster junior season. He produced 1,480 rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns. Fennell was a beast as a wide receiver as well, putting up 53 receptions for 764 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He’s the nation’s No. 605 overall player and the No. 45 athlete per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Georgia, he’s the No. 72 prospect.
