The college basketball season is well underway, and with a mere seven games under their belt, the Seminoles are looking great at 5-2 under first-year head coach Luke Loucks. The NET rankings have also smiled upon Florida State after marquee wins over Georgia Southern and Cal State Bakersfield.
Per the NCAA, NET’s formula includes game results, strength of schedule, game location, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses. It is not the single deciding factor as to whether a team clinches a spot in March Madness, but rather another decision-making tool for the committee to look at.
Florida State has checked in at No. 82 out of 365 in the first NET poll, released Monday morning. This puts them in the top 22% of all teams nationally, and they are the 11th-best ACC team by NET. They are 4-0 in quadrant four wins, 1-0 in quadrant three, and 0-1 in both quadrant two and one.
The Seminoles will look to enhance their resume with a match versus the 7-1 Georgia Bulldogs in the ACC/SEC Challenge, which will tip off from the Tucker Center Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
