FSU baseball lands veteran ACC reliever

The FSU Seminoles have landed another transfer pitcher, and it is once again someone with ACC experience. Gabe Nard, who spent the past three seasons with the Duke Blue Devils, announced his commitment Tuesday morning on social media.

“Excited for this new chapter,” he wrote. “Go Noles.”

Nard has pitched in 80 games during his career with Duke, making 21 or more appearances in all three seasons. The five-foot-eleven righty is from Shaker Heights, Ohio, and has a career 4.10 ERA over 120.2 innings. Seventy-seven of his 80 appearances have come as a reliever.

His best season was in 2024, when he had a 2.60 ERA over 45.0 innings. He held opponents to a .253 batting average and recorded 34 strikeouts.

He pitched a career-high 50.2 innings in 2025, posting a 4.62 ERA. He struckout 45 batters against 17 walks as opponents hit .247 off of him. His worst appearance was actually against FSU in the ACC Baseball Tournament. Nard recorded just one out as the Seminoles scored five runs to blow the game open.

Moore is the eighth transfer FSU has landed and the seventh pitcher this offseason. He joins left-handed pitchers Trey Beard and Kevin Mebil, right-handed pitchers Charlie Christensen, Cole Stokes, Bryson Moore, and Cade O’Leary, and infielder Eli Putnam.
