The FSU Seminoles have lost another player to the transfer portal, with Freshman Kelvyn Paulino Jr. leaving the program after one season. Aroundthehornszn reported the news on Instagram, with Paulino sharing the post.
Paulino played in 32 games for FSU with 26 starts, mostly serving as their designated hitter. He finished the year hitting .275 with one home run, six doubles, two triples, and 21 RBI. He had a .356 on-base percentage and struckout 22 times to 12 walks.
His usage decreased during May, and he did not see the field during the postseason. He will have three seasons of eligibility at his next school and will be eligible for the 2027 MLB Draft as a sophomore.
The Thomasville, North Carolina, product was one of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class and was seen as a major get for the Seminoles. He was ranked as the No. 53 overall player and No. 3 third baseman by Perfect Game.
He is the first position player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Freshman pitcher Manny Lantigua has also entered the transfer portal, announcing his plans before FSU’s season ended. The portal officially opened on June 1 and will be open until July 1.
