Florida State baseball’s NCAA Baseball Tournament Tallahassee Regional is set to bring thousands of fans to Dick Howser Stadium.
From gloves, jerseys and plenty of Garnet and Gold, fans might want to add raincoats and hats to their list of gear for the Tallahassee Regional.
The Florida state capital is expecting significant rainfall over the next two weeks, which includes the Seminoles’ regional weekend. Up to seven games could be played at Howser this weekend, with FSU vs. St John’s the first game of the regional set for Friday, May 29, at 3 p.m.
According to AccuWeather forecasts, Tallahassee has a 91% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, with a reduced 55% chance on Saturday before the projections jump back up to 88% on Sunday. Should Monday be needed for a winner-take-all game seven, or make-up games, the forecast calls for an 88% chance of rain and thunder.
It’s a foreboding forecast for the Seminoles, who are seeking a third consecutive regional victory. How the weather impacts that chase will be something to monitor throughout the weekend.
