Florida State baseball is one of the 16 regional hosts in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
While the Seminoles know they are hosting a regional and are a top 16 seed, the program’s exact seed is yet to be announced. FSU will learn that in the NCAA Baseball Tournament selection show, which is scheduled for Monday, May 25, at Noon.
It’s the third straight year that the Seminoles will host a regional as the program seeks a second trip to Omaha under head coach Link Jarrett. FSU made it to the College World Series in 2024 and made the super regional rounds in 2025.
FSU last played in the ACC Tournament, losing in stunning fashion to Pitt. Down to his final strike with two outs in the top of the ninth, Pitt’s Kai Wagner hit a three-run home run to stun FSU and knock the Seminoles out of the ACC Tournament quarterfinals with an 8-6 loss.
While the loss didn’t impact the Seminoles’ ability to host a regional, it’s put the program’s hopes of a top-eight national seed in doubt. That’s significant as the top eight seeds not only host regionals, but also have the chance to host a super regional, should the respective programs make it that far.
FSU finished the season 38-17 with eight ACC series wins. The team included ACC Pitcher of the Year Wes Mendes and five All-ACC selections.
