FSU’s baseball team has made back-to-back deep postseason runs under Link Jarrett and will look to go further in 2026, but to accomplish that, it will need another strong transfer class.
The Seminoles are going to lose several key pieces from the 2025 team to the 2025 MLB draft, but they are in a good spot with several top transfer targets. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, they have the momentum with FAU left-hander Trey Beard, one of the top pitchers in the portal.
Beard, who is from Dunedin, Florida, has had two strong seasons with the Owls. He was named to the All-AAC Freshman Team in 2024 and took another step in 2025. He finished the season with a 3.14 ERA in 86 innings, striking out 118 batters. He held opponents to a .199 batting average and issued 32 walks.
The Seminoles could lose both Max Williams and Gage Harrelson to the draft, creating several holes in the outfield and at the top of the lineup. One potential replacement they are in the mix for is Jaden Bastian, a Jacksonville transfer.
Bastian is coming off a breakout sophomore season with the Dolphins, hitting .302 with 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and 36 stolen bases. He is from Winter Garden, Florida, and FSU’s coaching staff received an up-close look at what he can do in their three meetings this season. He went 4-11 with a double, two RBIs, three walks and three stolen bases in the games and made several nice catches in the outfield.
The Seminoles have already seen some activity in the transfer portal, with five players departing and Davidson’s Eli Putnam committing. They added seven transfers last season.
