The Frazer School’s math team won over 200 awards at Mu Alpha Theta’s 54th national championship earlier this month in Frisco, Texas. Mu Alpha Theta is the largest national math honor society in the United States.
The Frazer School’s team of 56 students won 207 trophies across dozens of math events and placed ahead of state rival American Heritage’s Broward campus in Plantation.
Will Frazer, in a press release, said he was very proud of his students’ accomplishments. In June, the team ran a four-hour camp for the school’s younger students in preparation for the national championship.
“They worked very hard this summer to get themselves in shape for our national competition,” he said. “I am also excited about our teams’ prospects for next year and beyond.”
The team claimed the following first-place awards:
Sweepstakes: Overall Champion
Mu Division – Ben Chronley, George Paret, Bryan Zheng, and Daniel Wei
Alpha Division – Edwin Gao, Harshitha Guruprasad, Ragav Sivaramakrishnan, and Connor Guthrie
Alpha School Bowl – Edwin Gao, Harshitha Guruprasad, Ragav Sivaramakrishnan, and Connor Guthrie
Hustle – Michael Wei, Anish Patel, Harshitha Guruprasad, Maxwell Xu
Interschool – Team
Probability and Combinatorics – Maxwell Xu
