A mobile coffee truck will open its first shop in Fort Pierce this summer.
Double H Coffee Co. on North Second Street in downtown is owned by former St. Lucie County and Vero Beach police officer Haley Hogue. The truck will continue to be open for pop-ups.
Double H will serve specialty lattes and teas that rotate monthly and seasonally. Some seasonal menus contain refreshers. Some drinks are made with homemade sauces and syrups, such as a caramelized banana latte sold in limited batches.
Hogue plans to host occasional events during extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Some of her ideas include live music, silent book night and classes to learn new hobbies.
The decor will be similar to that of the Double H Coffee Co. trailer with sage green, a wooden counter, and white and gold accents.
Calling downtown the “heart” of the city, the Fort Pierce native said she’s always loved the area because of the support residents give small businesses, and businesses give each other.
“It seems like a very team-dynamic town of one big family with all these businesses supporting each other,” she said.
Hogue became a road patrol officer when she was 19. She worked the midnight shift for four years before she retired from law enforcement to pursue her own business. She was 24 when she opened her coffee truck in September 2025.
“I knew there were only two jobs I could do in my life,” she said. “Law enforcement or working for myself. I didn’t know at that time it would be coffee.”
