The Tampa Bay Buccaneers chose to let Rachaad White start over fresh by letting him walk in free agency. Shortly after the season, he made it clear on social media he was not going to be wearing pewter again in 2026, and he eventually predicted where he would land by hinting at a reunion with Jayden Daniels.
He signed with the Washington Commanders and reconnected with his former Arizona State teammate, who has become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL now. And while he hasn’t played a game that has counted with his new team, he is at least making waves based on CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan.
He recently wrote up notes and takeaways from team’s minicamps and one of the notes was on the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer who is now a Commander. Sullivan writes, “Dan Quinn was complimentary toward several players for their work during Washington’s offseason program, including veteran running back Rachaad White. The 27-year-old inked a one-year, $2 million deal with the Commanders this offseason, and that could prove to be one of the savviest/biggest bargains of this free-agent cycle. White impressed at minicamp and seems to be carving out a role as a pass catcher out of the Washington backfield.”
He is being hyped as eventually being one of the more underrated free agent signings based on these early returns. The Bucs seem to be happy with their duo of Bucky Irving and Kenneth Gainwell, but we will be keeping an eye on how well White plays.
