A 39-year-old woman was arrested and charged with stabbing a man in the head following a dispute in Fort Pierce, police said May 22 in a news release.
Taysha Torres, 39, of Fort Pierce, faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in relation to the incident reported May 21.
A man called police officers to a home in the 2200 block of Avenue K and told police he’d been assaulted during a dispute. Police noted a “significant head laceration.”
Medical personnel at a nearby hospital said the injury appeared consistent with being caused by a sharp object, according to the news release. The man was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.
Police said they found inconsistencies in statements about the incident and evidence found, but did not elaborate on what the inconsistencies and evidence are.
Torres remained in the St. Lucie County Jail on May 22 without bond, according to jail officials.
No other information was available.
