The latest Florida Statewide Assessment scores for districts and schools around the state are in.
More than 60% of Florida students met or exceeded grade-level benchmarks on state testing, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced during a June 26 morning news conference at Lakeland High School.
He touted that Florida students have made significant gains in English language arts and mathematics as a result of the statewide progressive monitoring system that was implemented five years ago.
The governor abolished the state’s former end-of-year Florida Statewide Assessment in 2021. In its place, the state implemented the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking, or FAST – progressive exams taken at the beginning, middle and end of each school year to track students’ progress toward goals.
