Another statue honoring a former president was unveiled April 15 in Florida.
The statue joins several others around Florida commemorating presidents and other historical figures as the United States celebrates its 250th birthday.

Statue honoring President Calvin Coolidge unveiled at Bok Tower Gardens
On April 15, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled a statue honoring former President Calvin Coolidge at Bok Tower Gardens in Central Florida.
The statue “commemorates his enduring legacy, his impact on the garden sanctuary, and America’s ongoing 250th anniversary celebration,” according to a news release.
“President Coolidge believed that places like Bok Tower Gardens help people connect with beauty and reflect on what makes our country special,” said Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd.
“This statue honors President Coolidge’s faith in the strong character of the American people and the natural beauty that continues to inspire our state.”
President Coolidge dedicated Florida Bok Tower Gardens in 1929
“In February 1929, President Calvin Coolidge traveled to Lake Wales to deliver the official dedication address for the Mountain Lake Sanctuary — now known as Bok Tower Gardens,” according to Bok Tower Gardens.
“His visit marked a moment of national significance, elevating the Gardens as a place where natural beauty, artistic expression, and civic purpose converge.
Where is Bok Tower Gardens in Florida?
Bok Tower Gardens is located in Lake Wales in Central Florida. It’s about 35 miles south of Orlando and about 45 miles east of Tampa.
America250FL monument series features other statues around Florida
America250FL features six other statues honoring notable figures in Florida’s history. Statues were planned for across Florida counties named for America’s founders, DeSantis said as the U.S. celebrates its semiquincentennial.

“The 250th anniversary of the United States marks a pivotal moment to celebrate the nation’s founding,” according to America250Florida’s website.
“In anticipation of this significant event, the Florida Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial was established. Its mission is to plan, encourage, develop and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. This includes highlighting Florida’s profound influence on the nation’s past, present and future.”
