Florida restaurant takes you to Portugal by smell of coffee, pastries

Walking through the doors of Rosalina’s Cafe and Bakery in Stuart is like taking an aromatic trip straight to Portugal.

The smell of pastéis de nata, espresso, breakfast sandwiches, honey and sweet egg custard fill the air inside the white and blue cafe on Frazier Creek. The cafe specializes in lattes made with espresso or tea and carries all-day breakfast and lunch. An extended menu is currently in the works.

Rosalina’s originally began in 2024 as a traveling food truck that served drinks and small bites. After moving to various locations, the owners were offered a spot to park in the Hobe Sound Farm Stand’s lot and they gradually moved toward opening inside the former Beck’s Dessert Shop building and offering a few new menu items.

The name is a tribute to Rosalina Ribeiro’s grandmother, Avo Rosalina. Her love for cooking sparked the same passion in Artur Ribeiro, Rosalina’s father, who passed that passion down to his daughter and son, Rosalina and Daniel Ribeiro.

Rosalina and Daniel now co-own Rosalina’s Cafe and Bakery, where they both work. Artur also helped set up shop and was the biggest inspiration behind his children opening the café, Rosalina told TCPalm.
