Florida baseball maintained its winning ways in the penultimate week of the 2026 regular-season schedule, run-ruling the North Florida Opsreys on Tuesday before taking two of three in a rain-soaked series over the weekend from the Kentucky Wildcats.
As a result of their continued success, the Gators were boosted a couple of spots in the latest D1Baseball rankings, moving up to No. 19. That puts them between the No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide — who swept them in Tuscaloosa back in late March — and the No. 20 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, last year’s College World Series runners-up.
With just three games remaining before the postseason begins, Florida sports an overall record of 34-18 along with a 15-12 mark against fellow SEC foes. The latter puts the Gators in the middle of the pack, tied with the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Arkansas Razorbacks for sixth place in the conference and six games behind the league-leading Georgia Bulldogs.
The Orange and Blue wrap up regular-season play with a trip to Baton Rouge to take on the defending national champion LSU Tigers starting on Thursday. The Bayou Boys have been anything but stellar this season, so hopefully Florida can wrap up the schedule on a high note.
