Florida holds steady in Baseball Coaches Poll after successful week

Florida baseball wrapped up the week with a 3-1 record after defeating the North Florida Ospreys on Tuesday in run-rule fashion, snapping a two-game skid in midweek matchups, followed by a series win over the Kentucky Wildcats in Gainesville on a rain-soaked weekend.

Unfortunately, that was not enough to impress the Baseball Coaches Poll voters, who kept the Gators at No. 20 in Monday’s updated rankings. That puts the Orange and Blue between the No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels, who took two of three from Florida back at the beginning of April, and the No. 21 Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Gators wrap up their 2026 regular-season schedule in Baton Rouge against the defending national champion LSU Tigers, with the series kicking off on Thursday night. The Bayou Bengals have struggled this season and hopefully continue that trend when Florida comes to town.

SEC schools in Baseball Coaches Poll Week 13

The Georgia Bulldogs overtook the Texas Longhorns for the highest ranking in the poll among SEC teams this week, switching the Nos. 4 and 5 spots, while the Auburn Tigers (No. 6) and Texas A&M Aggies (No. 10) also remain in the top 10. The Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 12), Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 18), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 19), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 19) and Florida (No. 20) round out the conference schools in the top 25.

The Oklahoma Sooners fell out of the top 25 and hold the de facto No. 26 spot with 45 votes, while the Tennessee Volunteers also appeared on the ballot with 10 votes.
