What better to do on a Friday in September than take in a high school football game? We’ve got eyes on fields across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville and Orlando to Tallahassee.
Northeast Florida hosted some of the biggest games of Week 5 of the FHSAA season with a battle of unbeatens in St. Augustine vs. Nease, plus Bolles vs. Oakleaf. Down south, Miami Central took on American Heritage, while on the Gulf Coast, Gadsden County faced Clearwater Catholic.
IMG Academy, the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Florida Network Super 25, returned to the Sunshine State to play undefeated Mandarin as Venice hosted The First Academy. Miami Northwestern traveled to Columbus a week after former coach Teddy Bridgewater was suspended for providing impermissible benefits.
