Fort Pierce Police are investigating a July 26 armed robbery at a bank ATM in which a man reportedly was forced to withdraw money, the agency stated July 27.
Police just after 8:30 p.m. went to a Wells Fargo in the 2500 block of South U.S. 1. The location is just south of Virginia Avenue on the west side of U.S. 1.
“The victim reported that after using the ATM, he was approached by two unknown males who demanded money,” police stated. “One suspect displayed a handgun tucked into his waistband and forced the victim to withdraw money from the ATM before fleeing on foot.”
Investigators reported using a police dog and drone but were unable to find any alleged robbers, who were described as being in their early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.
