Firefighters knocked down a fire in a single-story home on the city’s south side, the Tallahassee Fire Department said in a news release.
Crews responded around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 23 to the 4000 block of Center Drive.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy flames at the back of the home and launched an “aggressive interior attack” to contain the blaze, according to the release.
Firefighters determined no one was inside and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Personnel from Stations 1, 3, and 4 were on scene, with support from the City of Tallahassee Utilities, Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents.
