Avalos appeared for his arraignment in federal court in Tallahassee before Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick. A jury trial is scheduled for July 20 before U.S. District Judge Mark Walker. The case was a joint investigation between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Services unit.
