We are diving into some fantasy football content this offseason as we look to bring in all sorts of football fans to Bucs Wire. It is arguably the most popular game that is around football, so not dipping our toes into the proverbial pool wouldn’t make sense.
What we will start with is some rookie profiles, and where they fit into the landscape of the team they were drafted by. Next up, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Germie Bernard.

Reason to Believe in Germie Bernard in 2026: Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers tends to build a connection with a rookie over the tenure of his career. Bernard reminds me of someone like Randall Cobb when he first started with the Packers. He is a physical receiver, can work the middle of the field, and has some of the best hands of this rookie class. That combination could be a game-changer for Bernard and Rodgers as they look to build a connection in his final year.
2026 Outlook
Bernard is in a tough spot in 2026, where he is behind two wide receivers the team is heavily invested in. On top of that, the passing attack is not very efficient with Aaron Rodgers leading it. Bernard is not worth making a big investment in with any draft capital, but he could have a big Week 1 and be a top waiver wire target. In deeper leagues, he is worth a stash, but otherwise it is very much a wait-and-see situation with him.
