STUART — Louis Boglioli III, former finance director and interim city manager here, lobbed allegations of wrongdoing against at least one city commissioner at the March 9 City Commission meeting.
The allegations come after he was forced out as interim city manager and then quit as finance director. Here are five takeaways from his comments before and at the City Commission meeting:
∎ Boglioli alleged he was asked to do illegal, immoral and unethical things, which are described briefly below.
∎ “I said no to firing an employee over the (school resource officer) policy for a school whose principal is related to a board appointee” on Jan. 8, Boglioli alleged. “I overrode the policy the next morning.”
∎ He alleged, he was “told by one commissioner to ask about buying School Board property to demo a building and make a park, a violation of city policy.”
∎ “I was told to not meet with Tom Campenni and Robin Cartwright,” Boglioli continued. “I said no, and I met with both of them on separate occasions.” A former city commissioner, Campenni publishes the Friends & Neighbors newsletter.
∎ The meeting with Campenni happened Jan. 9, and later that day, Boglioli alleges, he was told to ban Campenni from City Hall.
