The FSU Seminoles are hosting several of their top targets on an official visit this weekend. One of the best players currently in Tallahassee is four-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon, one of their top targets in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
He named them one of his top six schools back in April, but two experts believe they are the favorite to land the Sarasota, Florida, product. On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Zach Blostein of Noles247 both predicted he would commit to the Seminoles on Sunday.
They are the only two predictions on where he will commit. Wiltfong’s prediction gives them an 84.8% chance to land Kennon in On3’s recruiting prediction machine. The Florida Gators have the second-best chance at 5.5%.
Kennon is the No. 67 overall player and No. 8 cornerback in the 247Sports composite ranking. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is also the No. 9 player from Florida. While he is not a composite five-star, 247Sports ranks him as one in their own ranking, making him the No. 27 player and No. 2 cornerback.
The Seminoles will have some tough competition for Kennon, who is set to announce his commitment on July 6. He has also taken official visits to see the Gators, Miami Hurricanes, Georgia Bulldogs, and has one with the LSU Tigers coming.
FSU has landed three safeties committed in their 2026 recruiting class, but they are still looking for their first cornerback. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. and safeties coach Evan Cooper are leading the charge for him.
