Dolphins instant draft grades: Day 3 includes two LBs

The Miami Dolphins selected linebacker/edge rusher Trey Moore of Texas with the 130th overall pick, in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Moore, 6-foot-2, 243 pounds, started 46 games at Texas and is considered an instinctive pass rusher.

Moore had 14 sacks for UTSA in 2023. He posted 8.5 sacks in 28 games with the Longhorns.

Moore has some versatility and has experience as an edge rusher with more than one move.

The ability to rush with his hand in the ground or standing up is a huge plus as the Dolphins are in desperate need for help on the edge.

Some say Moore is a tweener. But he’s a piece head coach and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley can work with.

The Miami Dolphins selected linebacker Kyle Louis of Pittsburgh with the 138th overall pick, in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Kyle Louis, 6-foot, 228 pounds, is a playmaker built like a safety and in fact can play some box safety.

Louis can cover and can blitz. He was compared by NFL.com to former Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker.

This is another player Hafley can move around the field, who does not necessarily have to be pigeonholed. He could be inserted into a game-specific plan each and any week.

The Miami Dolphins selected safety Michael Taafe of Texas with the 158th overall pick, in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Scouts say Taaffe, a former walk-on at Texas, has high football IQ and instincts. He can play deep safety and he can blitz and is a good communicator and teammate.

Taaffe, 6-foot, 190 pounds, was considered a likely late-round pick. He could be a potential high-level special teams contributor.

Taaffe was a no-star recruit but was so well-regarded at Texas he was chosen to host star recruit Arch Manning.

The Miami Dolphins selected wide receiver Kevin Coleman, Jr. of Missouri with the 177th overall pick, in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Coleman, 5-foot-10, 179 pounds, is obviously much smaller than the first two receivers Miami selected. Coleman is a slot player who spent four college seasons at four different schools.

Coleman, who has run a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, is a punt return option.

The Miami Dolphins selected tight end Seydou Traore of Mississippi State with the 180th overall pick, in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Traore was born in France and grew in London. He was once a soccer goalie and is part of the NFL’s International Pathway Program.

Scouts say Traore is strong and an intriguing developmental project as a big slot or receiving tight end.
