Holiday shopping for Christmas 2025 is in full swing already this December. Walmart is extending its Cyber Week sales through Sunday, Dec. 7, and some other retailers are extending their store hours to accommodate the holiday shopping rush.
Here’s a quick look at a few major retailers’ holiday hours for 2025, including a few that have extended hours at some locations.
What day is December 25th on in 2025?
This year, Christmas will fall on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025.

Target does have extended hours during the holiday season, through Dec. 23, and closes early on Christmas Eve. Like most retailers, Target stores are closed on Christmas Day.
According to its website, Target stores are open from 7 a.m. until midnight local time, from Nov. 29 through Dec. 23.
Does Walmart stay open later for Christmas?
Most Walmart locations stay open until 11 p.m. local time. The store hasn’t announced extended hours for December 2025. Most Walmart stores typically close early on Christmas Eve, at 6 p.m. local time. Walmart stores are closed on Christmas Day.
Although the retailer hasn’t announced extended shopping hours for the holiday season, it is expanding its Cyber Week sales through Sunday, Dec. 7.
“Many Cyber Monday deals have been extended through December 7, giving customers even more time to save on top holiday items,” the Walmart website says.
“Throughout the month of December, Walmart has exclusive deals on last-minute gifts and essentials for every holiday moment — with convenient same-day pickup and delivery options to help customers celebrate more and stress less all season long.”
Does T.J. Maxx have extended holiday hours?
T.J. Maxx hasn’t announced yet if its stores will stay open late in December 2025 for holiday shopping. In December 2024, many locations had extended hours, staying open until 11 p.m. for most of the month.
Like many other retailers, T.J. Maxx stores close early on Christmas Eve, depending on location, and are closed on Christmas Day.
What are Home Depot holiday hours?
Home Depot is expected to observe regular hours, closing between 8 and 10 p.m. local time, depending on location. Most Home Depot locations will close early on Christmas Eve, at 5 p.m. local time. Home Depot stores will be closed on Christmas Day.
“Customers are strongly encouraged to check the store locator tool for specific local hours, as operating times can vary by location,” Home Depot’s website says.
Does Best Buy have extended hours for Christmas shopping?
Yes. Many Best Buy locations will have extended holiday hours this December, depending on location.
“To accommodate your schedule during the holiday rush, many Best Buy stores will be open for extended holiday hours,” the Best Buy website says.
“Some stores may have different hours where required by local ordinances or landlord regulations. Mall-based Best Buy store hours may vary based on mall hours.”
