After he was arrested, Guity told paramedics he had entered the school’s campus to commit suicide, and was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was medically cleared and then taken to jail, a South Daytona police arrest affidavit states.

Guity remained behind bars on April 10 at the Volusia County Branch Jail without bail.

According to South Daytona police, officers were called to Warner Christian Academy at 1730 S. Ridgewood Ave., at 2:07 p.m. on April 9 to investigate a sex offense.

The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution, police said.

Officers arriving on scene at the school found Guity fully nude standing on a sidewalk on school property exposing himself, his arrest report states.

Guity, who appeared to be under the influence of an unidentified substance, refused to talk to police, the arrest report shows.

While he was being attended by paramedics, Guity said he had entered the school grounds with the intention of committing suicide. He said he blacked out, according to the arrest report.

Police said the school’s surveillance camera recording showed Guity entering the school property wearing clothes. School officials believe Guity jumped a fence, police said.

Guity’s clothes was found under a pavilion adjacent to the educational building. He was found standing completely naked near the building that houses K-12 students, police said.

A glass shard was located in Guity’s pants pocket that he said he was going to use to commit suicide, police said.
