Bucs RB Bucky Irving is going 'full speed' in training camp thus far

The Bucs are going to rely on their running game in 2026 after seeing it not reach its full potential in 2025. They had a top tandem in Bucky Irving and Rachaad White. Now, after an eventful offseason, the Bucs come into training camp with a healthy Irving and a new tag team partner for him in Kenneth Gainwell.

We mentioned Irving was healthy coming into camp, the former Oregon Duck is recovering from a shoulder surgery in December, and the hope was that he would be ready for camp. He is not only ready, but according to head coach Todd Bowles, he is back where everyone hopes he would be.

“He’s full speed. He’s full go right now. When we get in pads, we’re not easing him back from anything.”

The Bucs can only have so many padded practices, so hearing he will be able to be a full-go in those is a great sign. After his rookie season in 2024, Irving came into 2025 with higher expectations, but injuries hampered those in the end. A healthy Irving is not only what the team is rooting for, but fans as well, considering he is among the favorites on the roster.
