Jaguars' Travis Hunter weighs in on his playing time this season

At both wide receiver and cornerback, Travis Hunter made splash plays during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ fourth training camp practice.

On defense, he came away with an interception, while at wideout, he generated two explosive pass plays.

The Jaguars still very much plan for Hunter to play both ways this season, but how that playing time breaks down exactly remains to be seen.

The outside expectation seems to be that Hunter will see the bulk of his snaps at cornerback, while being rotated in at wide receiver. However, if you ask Hunter, he never wants to leave the field.

“All of them,” said Hunter. “I can’t stay on the sideline for nothing. I can’t just watch the game.”

The week-to-week matchups and in-game situations could end up playing a large role in what Hunter’s playing time looks like, and with that, it could ebb and flow throughout the season.

According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, Hunter has played 56 total snaps during the 11-on-11 periods across four training camp practices, with 34 coming on defense and 22 on offense.
