Florida football landed its first commitment in the 2028 recruiting class after four-star wide receiver Armani Strong pledged fealty to the Orange and Blue. The Hollywood, Florida, native stands at 6 feet 1 inch, 180 pounds and plays for Chaminade-Madonna Prep School.
The top-50 prospect out of Florida is regarded as one of the top underclassmen in the Sunshine State. During the 2025 campaign, Strong hauled in 39 passes for 532 yards and six touchdowns. Following the breakout sophomore performance, he announced his intention to transfer from Miami Norland High School to powerhouse Chaminade.
Strong’s decision gives new head coach Jon Sumrall and his staff a cornerstone piece to build their 2028 cycle around. Landing a coveted talent like Strong from a perennial powerhouse underlines the importance Sumrall has placed on keeping elite regional talent at home.
The blue-chip playmaker will hopefully serve as a peer recruiter for the Gators as the 2028 class takes shape over the next year. Florida has emerged as a force on the trail, vying for some of the nation’s top prospects in the 2027 cycle and building the No. 5 class according to 247Sports composite.
