Bath & Body Works is set to open a new location in Pensacola near the University of West Florida.
Their store will open in Suite 4 at 1765 E. Nine Mile Road at University Town Center, which is located in between GNC and Leslie’s Pool Supplies.
Bath & Body Works officials told the News Journal the location is set to open in August, with a specific date coming closer to the store opening, and it will feature elements of their new Gingham+ design the company is rolling out in a majority of their new stores across the U.S.
Bath & Body works is moving into an approximately 2,400-square-foot space inside the building that was one of the last leasable spaces in the plaza. The only leasable space left in University Town Center is a 1,400-square-foot space that previously held Delicias Latin Food and Bar.
This will be the third Bath & Body Works location between Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. There is already a store inside Cordova Mall, while Santa Rosa’s lone Bath & Body Works location is in Pace in the Santa Rosa Commons plaza.
Bath & Body Works is still looking for employees to work at the new store after holding a hiring event at the Cordova Mall location in late June, according to a job listing on the company’s website.
The addition of Bath & Body Works will bring another attraction to keep a steady stream of foot traffic in the plaza.
University Town Center is headlined by Publix and Target with restaurants like Chick-fil-a, Panera Bread, Panda Express and Voodoo BBQ Grill on the outskirts. Freedom’s Found Coffee and Wild Honey Frozen Yogurt were the latest commercial additions to the plaza before Bath & Body Work’s entrance.
Cook Out also recently opened its first Pensacola location on the nearby corner of Baldridge Road and East Nine Mile Road, while 7 Brew Coffee submitted plans to build a store on the corner of East Nine Mile Road and University Parkway in July.
What will the new Bath & Body Works look like?
Bath & Body Works has a new model for its brick-and-mortar locations across the U.S. called Gingham+ that adds more technological features to stores and implements a new layout for easier navigation like larger aisles, among other upgrades.
Bath & Body Works stores with the Gingham+ design will also feature their new scent bars, where customers can test candles, fragrance mists and wallflowers all in one area.
The company has already rolled out the new design at stores in California and Texas, with plans to implement it at a majority of their new store openings in the U.S.
