Kent State defensive back A’tiq Muhammad was released from Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and rejoined his team for its return flight to Ohio Saturday night, a Kent State athletics spokesperson told the Tallahassee Democrat.
Josh Padilla, Kent State’s assistant athletics director, communications, told the Democrat Sunday, Sept. 21, that Muhammad’s arm was in a sling when he rejoined the team for its flight home.

Muhammad was carted off the field against Florida State after a scary collision during the game Sept. 20.
Muhammad, a redshirt junior, was chasing down FSU’s Amaree Williams with about 3 seconds left in the second quarter when he was upended and landed awkwardly.
He lay on the ground with his arm outstretched underneath him as medical personnel tended to him.
Medical personnel rushed onto the field to tend to Muhammad as players from both teams knelt around him.
Muhammad was strapped onto a medical cart and taken off the field.
The ACC Network broadcast said Muhammad had been taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare for precautionary reasons. Reports indicated he was conscious.
“I just got word that A’tiq can move everything and feel everything,” ACC Network sideline reporter Victoria Arlen reported during the game. “He is going to the hospital just for precautionary reasons.”
