Arthur could reform as it nears the Atlantic Coast

Arthur lived a short life along the Gulf Coast but may not be finished just yet.

The National Hurricane Center said early Thursday, June 18 there’s a 10% chance the remnants of Arthur could regroup near the Atlantic coastline near the Carolinas to form a subtropical or tropical cyclone.

The timeline for development would be Friday, June 19 or Saturday as the area of showers and thunderstorms that was once Arthur moves northeast at about 15 mph.

As with the original storm, forecasters warn that regardless of development, heavy rainfall with the potential for widespread and life-threatening flash flooding is likely across portions of the southeast United States.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
