Investigators about 9:45 p.m. May 24 reported hearing shots in the area of Avenue E and North 23rd Street, according to Juliana Walker, police spokesperson.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound on the sidewalk. He was taken to a local hospital and was in what police described May 26 as “stable condition.”

Walker stated the man with the gunshot wound appears to have been the intended target.

“The victim walked past a group of people and someone said something as he walked by but the victim stated he didn’t stop or turn around to see who was speaking,” Walker stated.

Police did not immediately provide details of evidence supporting Robinson’s arrest.

Police report the investigation remains active and that a motive has yet to be determined.
