Analyst suggest Bucs are focused on two positions in Round 1

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain a strong offensive unit despite the departure of franchise legend Mike Evans. They retain quarterback Baker Mayfield, who will be looking for redemption in 2026, as well as Bucky Irving, who is on the same boat in terms of achieving a bounceback season. Beyond them, there is also Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan, who all make the passing attack dynamic.

Despite that, the team still seems destined to be fluid with the direction of their selection in Round 1. With them selecting at 15 overall, they will need some luck to go their way to have a need fall their way. However, as ESPN’s Jordan Reid points out, the team has focused in on two positions for round one ideally.

He writes, “Defensive end and tight end are two positions that the Bucs have keyed in on as Round 1 options, with tight end Kenyon Sadiq (Oregon) being a real possibility at No. 15.”

The Sadiq pick is interesting as it doesn’t make much sense after re-signing Cade Otton, unless they plan to move Sadiq outside to more of a slot role. As for edge rusher, it is the pick that makes the most sense for all parties involved as they need to find a solution to their pass rush problem.
