The Florida State Seminoles recently entered the race for Jamarios Canton, a five-star offensive tackle in the 2028 recruiting class. They did so during his visit to watch their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, the first time he visited Tallahassee.
He got to witness FSU offensive line coach Herb Hand in action and came away impressed.
“He’s a good coach,” Canton told Drian Dohn of 247Sports. “After the game, we went to meet with o-linemen, all the recruits. We were talking about what their players need to fix and what they messed up at. I felt like he is a good coach because he asked a lot of questions.”
Canton is ranked as the No. 15 overall player and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country. He is also the No. 1 player from Florida.
The Seminoles already have one player committed in their 2028 recruiting class in Lamar Garrison, a wide receiver from Leesburg, Florida. They will now need to get Canton back on campus for a return visit to have a serious shot at landing him.
