The Miami Dolphins have been one of the busiest teams in the NFL this year, as they’ve made wholesale changes to their front office, coaching staff and roster over the last few months, which is why these weeks off have been much needed.
Now, the Dolphins are preparing to return for the start of training camp, as rookies report to their Baptist Health Training Complex on July 21 and veterans report the following week on July 28.
Before we get there, let’s take a look at a few Dolphins who ended their 2025 campaign with injuries and are attempting to be back on the field at some point during training camp.
RB De’Von Achane
Achane rushed for a career-high 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns on a league-leading 5.7 yards per attempt last season while hauling in 67 receptions for an additional 488 yards and four scores. His 2025 performance was so strong that he was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. The running back had shoulder surgery this offseason, but he’s expected to be good to go this year.
WR Chris Bell
Bell finished his final season at Louisville with career highs in receptions (72), receiving yards (917) and receiving touchdowns (six). Unfortunately, his 2025 campaign was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in a November battle with SMU. Miami still felt comfortable taking the wide receiver in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft, but it’s unclear when he’ll be back on the field.
OT Austin Jackson
Jackson entered the 2025 season as Miami’s starting right tackle, but he suffered a toe injury in the opener that landed him on injured reserve. While he returned later on and finished with six starts on the year, he had offseason toe surgery that has limited his participation so far in their offseason program.
CB Storm Duck
After appearing in 14 games as a rookie in 2024, Duck played in just two games last year, partially due to a season-ending knee injury that he suffered in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. Miami’s hoping that Duck can be back on the field soon, but it’s unknown if that will come during camp.
CB JuJu Brents
Miami claimed Brents off of waivers last year after the former second-round pick failed to make the Indianapolis Colts roster out of camp. He appeared in seven games and started two last year, but his season ended abruptly due to a foot injury in Week 11 that required surgery.
