2-year-old boy fatally shot at home by 4-year-old sibling in Florida

A boy, 2, from Georgia was fatally shot when his sibling discharged an unsecure firearm outside a Florida residence, authorities said.

The shooting happened shortly before 4 p.m. near Kissimmee, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The boy was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“A 4-year-old located an unsecure firearm inside the vehicle and discharged it, striking the 2-year-old that was also inside the vehicle,” according to the Osceola Sheriff’s Office.

The family had just arrived to the area from Georgia for vacation. The case remains under investigation.

The shooting occurred at a home in a residential neighborhood outside Kissimmee.

Kissimmee is located just a few miles from Walt Disney World.
