A woman was critically injured on Oxnard Boulevard on April 21, according to authorities.
Around 4:45 p.m., Oxnard Fire Department responded to calls on a pedestrian pinned between two vehicles, according to Fire Chief Alex Hamilton of the department.
Firefighters found a vehicle that had crashed into a woman, who had been standing behind her car and was sandwiched between the vehicles, he said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, Hamilton said.
The male driver of the vehicle that crashed into the woman remained on scene and cooperated with police officers, said Cmdr. Kevin Baysinger of the Oxnard Police Department.
Drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be a factor at this time, Baysinger said.
Police officers shut down northbound South Oxnard Boulevard between Date Street and Five Points until around 5:30 p.m. to investigate the incident.
