Work started in earnest last year on a new Chevron gas station and Extra Mile convenience store on a portion of the old Record Searchlight property in north Redding.
But crews stopped working about four months ago at the Twin View Avenue site. What happened?
Nirmal Chandi, a representative of property owner Hypester Development Inc., said they stopped construction last winter due to the weather.
Construction crews recently re-started, and Chandi said he hopes the gas station-minimart will open in mid-July or early August.
There are plans for a Starbucks, too, on the property. But Chandi said those are on hold for now.
