Warriors linked to Big-12 freshman standout with No. 11 pick

NBA scouts were hard at work this week, evaluating top prospects at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine.

The Golden State Warriors were among those teams, gaining important information ahead of the June NBA Draft, where they hold the No. 11 and No. 54 selections.

Following the first few days of the combine, Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report released another mock draft. This time, Golden State was predicted to take another different player with the No. 11 pick.

After previously being linked to Nate Ament (Tennessee), Labaron Philon Jr. (Alabama), Karim Lopez (New Zealand Breakers) and Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan), Wasserman predicted that Golden State would land Brayden Burries (Arizona).

In his freshman season with the Wildcats, Burries did a little bit of everything, finishing the year with 16.1 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 39.1% from 3-point range on 4.6 attempts per game.

Given Burries’ shooting ability and defensive prowess, he may be the perfect prospect to fit in Golden State’s rotation both now and in the future.
