3 reasons Rams RB Blake Corum will break out in 2026

Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum had a strong second year in 2025. However, the numbers indicate he’ll have a breakout season in 2026. Here are three stats that prove such a theory heading into his third season in the NFL.

5.1

Corum averaged 5.1 yards per carry last season, and if the Rams are looking to split carries between Corum and Kyren Williams, Corum is in position to achieve his first career 1,000-yard season in 2026.

Corum and Williams combined for 404 regular-season carries. Corum had 145, due to how the Rams managed the running back room. If they had split their carries by half, Corum would’ve had 202. At 5.1 yards per carry, that’s 1,030 rushing yards Corum could’ve had last season.

Corum is already expected to have a bigger role and has already produced in his smaller assignment.

The Rams were 7-1 last season when Corum had double-digit touches. While some of those wins were already secured before Corum received the volume of carries to reach double-digits, Corum’s efforts at San Francisco, against Detroit, and against Carolina in the postseason played a major role in those victories.

Also, the one loss was the Rams’ 38-37 overtime meltdown in Seattle, a game the Rams nearly put away, in part thanks to Corum’s efforts.

13

The Rams’ use of 13 personnel unlocked a new level to their offense. Corum was used heavily during the Rams’ beginnings of the offensive package, recording double-digit carries in the first three games in which the Rams used 13 personnel at a league-high rate.

While Corum’s stats were decent, Matthew Stafford’s were off the charts. In those three games, Stafford had 13 touchdowns and no interceptions. The threat of Corum’s speed, paired with tight ends who can run block, forced the opposition to stack the box with defenders. The tight ends used their speed and strength to get open, with Stafford placing perfect passes all over the field.

With the addition of Max Klare to a loaded tight end room, expect the same concepts to be used in 2026, with Corum benefiting.
